Opening Ceremony and Welcome Reception
The Opening Ceremony and the Welcome Reception will take place at the conference site, at ELTE Convention Centre in the evening of 5 July.

Dear contributors. The length of the oral lectures (with the exception of the plenary lectures) is 15 min, plus 5 min for the questions from the audience.

Over one hundred contributions
We are pleased to announce that a total number of 129 contributions were accepted to the CSF2008. In 13 sections 39 oral lectures will be presented, and 90 posters will be exhibited at the conference site.
In vino veritas
Wine tasting and wine shop. For everyone, who is fascinated by the art of traditional winemaking, there will be the opportunity for tasting some quality wine from Hungary. If you like it, you can bring home a few bottles even. The wine shop will be open at the conference site, between Sunday and Tuesday, from 3 p.m. until evening.
The canine-related photo competition was a big success. More than 20 talented photographers sent us their selected pictures, from as far even as Australia! The best pictures of each category ('Wild Friends', 'Dogs in Action', 'Dog Personalities' and 'Lights and Forms') were chosen, as well as the category winners. You can see the best of the best at the conference site, on our photo exhibition.
Vote for the best
Awards for the Best Poster and Best Photo - During the conference we will choose the best of posters, and the best of canine related photos, exhibited at the conference site. Each contributor and registered guest will be given a voting sheet at the registration, and we kindly ask you to vote, which is your favourite poster and photo. The voting process ends on Tuesday, at noon. The winners will be greeted and awarded on the same day, afternoon.

What is Canine Science Forum 2008?
We strongly feel that there is a need for an interdisciplinary forum that brings together scientists with different expertise on Canines who wish to share their research interests with fellow colleagues working on closely or more distantly related fields. This forum aims to substantiate canine biology in order to develop it as a major model of biological investigation.

- the emergence of an interdisciplinary field of canine biology
- better integration of dogs in our rapidly changing modern society
- the advantageous roles of dogs in our society and thus increase their well-being
